Esther Winder Board Chair

Esther has Shuswap roots and is a member of the Tl’etinqox-t’in First Nation. She has worked in a non-traditional industry for over 25 years, during which time she has owned and operated her own long haul trucking business and has been a commercial and corporate driver instructor.

She is currently employed as the safety supervisor for a company involved in the transportation of dangerous goods and holds a certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and now working towards completing her diploma at BCIT.

Angeline

Angeline Nyce - Legal Council

Angeline is Nisga’a Nation and a lawyer practicing in the areas of Corporate/Commercial, Natural Resources and Aboriginal Law and First Nations Legal Issues. She is also a Registered Professional Forester, certified to practice forestry in British Columbia.

Her aboriginal and treaty rights practice consists of advising businesses, governments and First Nations on jurisdictional issues, the duty to consult and accommodate, interim measures and, settlement agreements.

 

 

Joanne John

Nukw7aylh, ti n sama skwatsits, Joanne John, Lil’watmecti. Joanne has been working in the administrative field for over 25 years – the positions she held range from a Coordinator to Senior Administrator. Joanne is passionate about the Vision of her community – thus has served 4-2 year terms as an Elected Councilor, is currently the Emergency Social Services Director and is employed as the Acting Home & Community Care Manager.

Joanne has been a Stl’atl’imx Tribal Police Board Member since March 2013 and has 4 years of experience as the Vancouver Coastal Caucus representative for Lil’wat Nation. Joanne has completed the Aboriginal Health Community Administration Program, UBC, the Lil’wat Nation Language and Culture Program, CAPU and is pursuing a BA via Thompson Rivers University.

Gary

Gary Wilson

Gary is a member of the Heiltsuk Nation in Bella Bella and the Chief Executive Officer for the   Huu-ay-aht Group of Businesses.

He has varied work and academic experiences, primarily working within the Aboriginal/First Nation environment, in the areas of Natural Resource, Economic Development, Advocacy and Not-For-Profit Societal work.  Gary is an Executive Masters Business Administration (MBA) – Candidate at Simon Fraser University and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Entrepreneurial Management from Royal Roads University, a Diploma in Business Administration from Kwantlen College University and a Canadian Securities Certificate from the Canadian Securities Institute.
